Friday Night Highlights: Sept. 1, 2023

Most coverage area teams were on the road in week 3 of the 2023 high school football season.

The Corbin Redhounds traveled to Lexington to take on the Lexington Catholic Knights. The Hounds came away victorious, 30-10, to improve to 2-0 on the season. They will travel to Pulaski County (1-2) next week.

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets made the trip to Clay County Friday, dropping to 0-2 after a disappointing 44-20 loss to the Tigers. The Jackets will hope to secure their first victory next week when they host the Waggener Wildcats (1-2) in their season home opener.

The Whitley County Colonels had a very good night Friday, traveling to Harlan County and shutting out the Black Bears, 34-0. With the win, Whitley improves to 2-1 on the season. They will host the undefeated South Laurel Cardinals next week.

Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats improved to 2-1 on the year with a big 28-12 victory over visiting Knott County Central in week 3. The Cats will hope to extend their win streak to three games next weekend when they travel to play the Bellevue Tigers (1-2).
