The Corbin Redhounds, Whitley County Colonels and Williamsburg Yellow Jackets were all in action in front of home crowds in week 3.
At Williamsburg, the Jackets were eager to play the first game on their newly installed turf field. Unfortunately, the Clay County Tigers came to town and spoiled the party, managing to walk away with a 27-18 victory. The loss drops Williamsburg to 1-1 on the year ahead of a game against visiting Waggener next week.
Across town, the Whitley Colonels and the Harlan County Black Bears battled it out in a close contest that ultimately went to the home team by the final score of 28-22. The Colonels, now 2-1, will travel to South Laurel in week 4.
The Corbin Redhounds improved to 3-0 on the season Friday with a very impressive 56-22 win over visiting Lexington Catholic. Next week, the Hounds will be back in action at Campbell Field when they welcome in the Pulaski County Maroons.
Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats traveled to Knott County in week 3 with hopes of remaining undefeated. The Knott Central Patriots had other plans, however, defeating the Cats, 35-18. Lynn Camp will attempt to regroup and get back on track next week when they host Bellevue.
