Coverage area teams dominated in week 4 of the 2023 high school football season…

Two games took place in Williamsburg Friday, with the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets hosting the Waggener Wildcats and the Whitley County Colonels hosting the South Laurel Cardinals.

The Yellow Jackets picked up their first win of the season, improving to 1-2 on the year with a 44-27 victory over the visiting Wildcats. Meanwhile, the Colonels took care of business across town, defeating South Laurel, 28-7, to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Whitley will play at home again next week against the visiting Bell County Bobcats (4-0), while Williamsburg will be on their bye week.

The Corbin Redhounds remain undefeated on the year after a week 4 contest at Pulaski County, improving to 3-0 with a 43-0 shutout win over the Maroons. The Hounds are gearing up for a high profile matchup next week against the 6A powerhouse Frederick Douglass Broncos (2-1). This will be the first game contested at the newly remodeled Campbell Field. Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats were not in action Friday, but will go on the road Saturday to play the Bellevue Tigers. Darrell Hendrix’s Cats are hoping to secure their third straight victory, and improve to 3-1 on the year.
