George “GS” S. Brown, 77, of Ryans Creek Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home.

He was born on July 11, 1940 in McCreary County, to the late Melton Brown and Rose Meadors Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two infant brothers, Lindel and Alden and an infant sister.

GS was a member of Jellico Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anna Brown of Williamsburg; two sons, Gregory Brown (Paige) and Gary Brown (Janet), of Williamsburg; two grandsons, Joshua Brown (Tiffany) and Jason Brown (Melissa); two great grandsons; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Thelma Reaves (Rev. Randel) of Williamsburg; Bonnie Scott (Bill) of Ohio and Christine Rains of Ohio; two special friends, Eric and Angie Hartment of Williamsburg; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Cox and Rev. Anthony Reaves officiating.

Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Jellico Creek Cemetery.
