Graham Trimble joins race for Commonwealth’s Attorney

A Corbin attorney is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming the next Commonwealth’s Attorney for Whitley and McCreary counties.

Graham Trimble, the son of Commonwealth’s Attorney Allen Trimble, has announced his candidacy for the office of Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 34^th Judicial Circuit.

The Corbin native is 1999 graduate of Corbin High School. Trimble went on to graduate from Eastern Kentucky University and studied law at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.

After passing the bar exam, Trimble said he went into private practice before joining the commonwealth’s attorney’s office in 2014.

Trimble said he believes his time on both sides of the courtroom give him a perspective on the justice system that only a few have.

While the focus in a case is typically on the defendant, Trimble said the victim(s) often get lost.

“It is very important that the victim or the victim’s family is kept informed,” Trimble said.

Above all, Trimble said the prosecutor’s goal should be to ensure that justice is done.

“I believe that my extensive experience in state and federal court, as well as my current responsibilities as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in the 34^th Circuit make me uniquely qualified for this office,” Graham Trimble said in a letter announcing his intention to run.
