Heroin arrest made in north Corbin Sunday

Date:

A complaint about an intoxicated female outside of a north Corbin business Sunday night resulted in the arrest of a Tennessee woman on charges of possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said deputies arrested Angela Ewing, 45, of Knoxville, Tennessee, on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance – heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication – controlled substances.

Acciardo stated that deputies Bo Harris, Dustin Saylor and James Sizemore responded to the complaint at approximately 10:45 a.m. off of West Cumberland Gap Pkwy.

“When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, they determined that this subject was under the influence,” Acciardo stated noting that deputies found suspected heroin, several syringes, a metal spoon and suspected marijuana.

Ewing was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
