Rupp Arena emptied a little early as Holmes pulled away from Christian County to win, 72-61. Christian County pulled within two in the third quarter before Homes pulled away for the easy win.
Brandon Housley and Ricardo Johnson had 15 points each for Holmes. Corey Wilford had 21 to lead Christian County in a nice effort by the Colonels. Johnson had a double-double with 11 rebounds.
Holmes looked good in the paint, outscoring Christian, 36-18.
Like I said, Christian County was very impressive with Wilford’s 21 points but the 2nd region team was just over-matched.
