Interstate 75 traffic slowed by wreck in Laurel County

Date:

Northbound Interstate 75 in the Corbin area is backed up and moving very slowly following a wreck involving five vehicles Monday afternoon.

The wreck occurred near the 33-mile marker at approximately 2:30 p.m.

“One vehicle hit another and then another and another and another as they came up on it,” said West Knox Fire Chief Daryl Baker, who is on the scene, adding that each collision was minor and no one was seriously injured.

The right lane of northbound I-75 is closed near the scene.

Traffic is backed up to near exit 25.

Motorists traveling through the area are advised to seek alternate routes.

Southbound I-75 is slowed near the 36-mile marker as the emergency lights may be seen by southbound traffic.
