Jerry Patrick Ballard, born December 17th, 1961 in Camp Lejeune, NC, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who had a heart as big as the outdoors that he loved so much. He was a man of immeasurable talent and determination, best known for his exceptional craftsmanship and his years of dedicated service as a deep miner in the coal industry. Jerry was a master at building and remodeling structures to perfection, a skill that paralleled his ability to build strong and enduring relationships with all who knew him.
Jerry was a resident of Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he found great joy in the simple things of life. His yard, plants, and flowers brought him immense happiness, a testament to his love for nature and his remarkable ability to create beauty in his surroundings. The love he held for his family was profound and unwavering. He cherished his wife, Terri (Baird) Ballard; his children, Jessica Villa, Casey Sharpless, Samantha Ballard, Pamela Sharpless, and Shea (Casey) Helton; his grandchildren, Shayna Sharpless, Grant Lawson, Bethany Roberts, Brooklyn Roberts, Kaliann Davis, Cameron Surgener, Byron Helton, Kaden Davis, Damien Davis, Alexis Ballard, Bristol Helton, and Jerrod Staggs; his great-grandchildren, Aspen Root and Rylin Kidd; his siblings, Mike (Liz) Ballard, Gail (Mike) Bordes, and Karen Wilson; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Our dear Jerry Ballard departed this life on October 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Reva (Powers) Ballard; and his brother-in-law, Donnie Wilson.
His life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 6, with a visitation at 1:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the same venue.
Interment will take place at 4:30pm at the Ballard Family Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
