Jewel D. Leach Melton, 87, of Eaton, OH, formerly of the Buck Creek community of Whitley County, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Sycamore Glen Nursing Home in Miamisburg, OH.

She was born October 21, 1929, at Saxton, the daughter of the late James Ottice and Bessie (Vanderpool) Leach.

She was a member of the Clearfork Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy L. Melton; her brothers, Junior Leach, Claude Leach and Lonas Leach.
She is survived  by her sons, Rick Melton and wife, Barb, of Miamisburg, OH, Darrell Melton and wife, Kim, of Eaton, OH; grandchildren, Jessica Centers and husband, Jason, Jenny McKinney and husband, Brian, Thomas Melton, Angela Remley and husband, Jared, Adam Melton and wife, Becky, Elizabeth Melton, Emily Melton;  7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Maurice Leach and wife, Wanda; sisters, Sandra Petrey and husband, Teddy, Irma Gibson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, with Rev. Ulys Cox officiating.

Burial was in the Clearfork Cemetery.

Cox & Son Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
