Jim D. Jones

Jim D. Jones, age 76, of Corbin, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at his home.
He was born July 21, 1949 in Pulaski County, KY, to the late James W. and Helen Anderson Jones.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jones; grandson, Tye Hamblin; and one sister, Donna Kay Ping.
He is survived by his two daughters, Shea Lawson (Shawn) of Corbin, KY, Tara Prewitt (Jeff) of Corbin, KY; three grandchildren, Bryson Lawson (Kenzie), Emily Hamblin, Logan Prewitt; one great-grandson, Asher Lawson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were Sunday, August 24, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Day officiating.
Williamsburg Masonic Lodge F&AM 490 conducted the Masonic Rites at the funeral home.
Interment followed in the Youngs Creek Cemetery.
Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Post 88 of Corbin, KY.
Pallbearers were Harold Prewitt, Russell Jones, Christian Grubb, Jeff Prewitt, Bryson Lawson, and Logan Prewitt.
