It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John Crit “JC” Lawson, who departed this life on August 20, 2025.
John was a deeply cherished member of the Mud Creek Baptist Church, a pillar within his community, and a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His enduring faith, steadfast spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends have left an indelible mark on the many lives he touched.
John was born to the late Charlie and Flora Lawson and was preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife, Betty Lawson. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Walter Lawson, Alvis Tab Lawson, Mary Evalee Wilhoit, and Helen Jean Carpenter.
John’s legacy of love and strength endures through his son, Jason Lawson; his brother, Roy B. Lawson; his special niece, Gail (Jerry) Owens; and a host of other special nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends at the Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, on Saturday, August 30, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
The funeral service will follow at the same location at 3:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Billy Carpenter, and the interment will take place at the Blakely Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kentucky, at 4:30 pm.
We encourage friends and loved ones to leave memories and upload photos of John to the memorial page, as we celebrate his life and find comfort in remembering the joy he brought to each of us.
