John G. Baker, Sr., 86 of Lily, passed away on Friday April 12, 2019 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
He was retired from the US Army having served in Korea and Vietnam in addition to being stationed in France and Germany.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mayme May Arthur Baker; parents, Tom Burton Baker and Edith Petrey Baker; and by a brother, Roy Baker.
He is survived by his son, John Baker Jr.; grandchildren, Kevin Baker, Ryan Baker, Jennifer Ferrell; brother, Tom Baker Jr.; sisters, Roberta Spurlock and Freda Hacker;and by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Wilmer Evans officiating.
Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with military honors.
