Lanny Delano Myers, age 84, of Corbin Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026.
Born on October 21, 1941, Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Ruth Myers; and his brother, Dennis Myers; and nephew Kenton Frederick.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Myers of Corbin, Kentucky; daughters, Laura Piipponen (Jeff) of Key Largo, Florida and Jane Chandler (Mel) of Corbin, Kentucky; sister, Gail Frederick (Boyce) of Corbin, Kentucky; brother, David Myers (Vickie) of Corbin, Kentucky; grand-children, Andy Piipponen, Lizzie Piipponen, Garner Chandler, and Patton Chandler; stepchildren, Doug Clark (Jennifer) and Sean Foozer (Emily); step-grandchildren, Serena Foozer, Sebastian Foozer, Kenzie Clark, Kayla Clark, Samantha Foozer and Douglas Clark Jr.
Lanny was a proud 1959 graduate of Corbin High School and Eastern Kentucky University.
In 1975, he founded Marine Myers Ford, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1999. Through his leadership and dedication, he built a respected local business and lasting relationships throughout the community.
A devoted supporter of his community, Lanny was one of the founding members of the Redhound Varsity Club and was always generous with his time, resources, and encouragement. His commitment to local schools, athletics, and community organizations left a lasting impact. He proudly served in the Army Reserve for four years.
In his spare time, Lanny greatly enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and especially loved watching his grandchildren grow.
Lanny will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and service that will live on through all who knew him.
A private graveside service will be on Wednesday March 4, at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
The Myers family will receive friends after 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, at the Corbin Center located 222 Corbin Center Drive Corbin, Kentucky for a fish fry in celebration of Lanny’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kenton Frederick Scholarship Fund, 1738 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701.
