Laura Jean (Davis) Singley

Laura Jean (Davis) Singley, age 94, of Jellico, Tennessee passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at home. She was born February 10, 1932, in a coal mining camp in Four Mile, Kentucky.
She was a graduate of Jellico High School class of 1950 and a graduate of Cumberland College class of 1972. Jean was a Kindergarten Teacher at Jellico Elementary School for 27 years, and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 11 years: Calvin Oscar Singley, who passed away January 20, 1967; father, Virgil Davis, Sr.; mother, Cecil (Lawson) Davis; sisters, Rosa Marie and Myrtle Mae Davis; brother, Virgil Davis, Jr.; sister-in-law, Clara Davis and very special friend, Marcella Lindsay.
She is survived by sister, Reba and husband John Stump of Toledo, Ohio; three sons, Gary Singley and wife Angie, Darrell Singley and wife Kathy of Corbin, Kentucky, Terry Singley of Jellico; one daughter, Pam York and husband Darrell of Jellico; grandchildren, Beth and husband Greg McCreary of London, Rachael Singley of Jellico, Kayla and husband Travis Crabtree of Corbin, Jessie and husband Jonathan Powell of Corbin, and Jaron Singley of Williamsburg; great grandchildren, Caleb, Connor, Jason, Olivia, Elaina, Peyton; and very special friend, Norma Jean Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday, February 27, at Harp Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Junior Dople and Rev. James Hackler officiating.
Burial will be at 12 pm on Saturday, February 28, in Douglas Cemetery, Wooldridge community.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Good Hope Baptist Church.
