Lawrence (Larry) Leon Rude, age 82, from the Redbird area of Williamsburg, Ky passed away Friday January 10, 2025. He was born July 26, 1942
Larry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was a faithful Christian who never met a stranger. He actively served in the community as a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a board member of the Emergency Christian Ministries.
Larry was proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lucile Rude; his siblings, Frank Rude and Loretta Wilfong; and granddaughter, Jessica Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Rude; two siblings, Nancy Rude of Greenville, Indiana and Sarah (Jerry) Spenser of Lafayette, Indiana; along with five children, Betty (Richard) Doyle of Williamsburg, KY., Leslie Cox of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Wesley Cox of Winder, Georgia, Richard Rude of Troy, Michigan, and Lawrence (Jennifer) Rude of Bethlehem, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Vickie Smith, Susan Taylor, Tonya Billings, Amy Brock, Jessica Cox, Chasity Thomas, Elizabeth Rude, Rebekah Clark, and Mahala Rude; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Tuesday January 14, at Croley Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bob Carpenter and Rev. Janus Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
