LC Sheriff’s Dept. searching for missing juvenile runaways, Corbin man arrested in connection to their disappearance

Date:

A Corbin man has been arrested in connection to two missing Laurel County juveniles that he allegedly helped run away from their homes.

Lloyd Allen James Ihde, 19, was arrested Thursday afternoon on a charge of custodial interference.

According to a release from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department, Alexis Gilbert, 16, and Cassidy Longworth, 17, were reported as possible runaways Thursday morning. The pair was last seen near Campground Elementary School that morning.

As part of their investigation, the sheriff’s department obtained surveillance video showing the two missing juveniles being picked up by a male subject near the school, who was later identified as Ihde. Police were able to locate Ihde at his place of employment and conducted an interview.

Ihde allegedly told police that he had transported the juveniles to Manchester and dropped them off on a road.

Police have contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and a search is ongoing, thought the missing juveniles have not been found.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone who has any information of the missing juveniles or their possible whereabouts to contact them at (606) 864-6600 or by personal message via their Facebook page. You can also email information to g.acciardo@LaurelCountySheriff.gov.

All information received will remain confidential.
