Lecia Lay

Lecia Lay, age 88, of Jamestown, Tennessee and formerly of Elk Valley passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at home. She was born August 19, 1937 in Clinchmore, Tennessee.
Lecia is preceded in death by husbands, Levi Morgan and Joe Lay; father, Levi Daugherty; mother, Peggy (Wilson) Daugherty; sisters, Lee Swafford and Ella Mae; stepson, Leonard Carroll; and son-in-law, Harold Hicks.
She is survived by daughter, Susan (Carroll) Hicks; fur baby, Missy Cat; step-daughter, Martha Ann Cotner; step-son, Grover Carroll; step-grandchildren, Billy Lay, J.D. Lay, T.C. Cotner, and Destiny Cotner; special niece and nephews, Donna Shepard, Gilbert Lay and wife Michelle, Gary Lay; and a host of friends and family to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends 11 am-1 pm on Friday, January 23, Harp Funeral Home, with funeral services at 1 pm with Bro. Gilbert Lay officiating.
Burial will follow in Stanfield Cemetery, Pioneer, Tennessee.
