Lola Baird Bridges

Lola Baird Bridges,  91, (formerly of Jellico, TN), a resident of Clover Hill Senior Living, Maryville, TN passed away September 3, 2016 at Morning View Transitional Care Center in Maryville, TN.

She was born February 27, 1925 in Capuchin, TN. Lola was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and exhibited the virtues of Proverbs 31:10-22, 24-30. She set an example of hard work, integrity and love of family. She made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at age 13 and throughout the rest of her life sought to live a Christian life.

Mrs. Bridges was faithfully married to the late Vergil Bridges for 54 years. She was also preceded in death by parents Walter and Ella Baird; brothers, J. C. Baird, Sterling Baird and Millard Baird; and sister, Grace Baird Sexton. Survived by daughter Bobbie and son-in-law Steve Shoun of Alcoa, TN; two cherished grandchildren, Aimee Shoun Morales (Job) of Dayton, OH and Derek Shoun of Knoxville, TN; three great grandchildren, Micah, Iris and Maya Morales of Dayton, OH, treasured niece (the other daughter), Debra Sexton Freeman (Roger) of Knoxville, TN; great nephews Eric and Justen Freeman and niece Kristen Freeman of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law Bobbie Baird of Clinton, TN; Jessie Baird of Jellico, TN and brother-in-law Verdie Bridges of Walton, KY as well as several special nieces and nephews.

Living for the care and kindness they extended.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. followed by a service to honor Lola’s life at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7th, at Crouches Creek Baptist Church, Jellico, TN.

Burial will follow in the Huddleston Cemetery.

Arrangements will be provided by Cox & Son Funeral Home, Jellico, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church she loved, Crouches Creek Baptist Church, Jellico, TN 37762.
