Martha Elizabeth Hoskins, 92, of Corbin passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Born March 22, 1924, in Pineville, Martha was the daughter of the late Joe and Jessie Wilson Horn. She spent much of her young life in Loyall, where she met her high school sweetheart, Levi Hoskins. The couple married while Levi was on a furlough from the U.S. Army during World War II.
Her work career began after high school at Newberry’s in Harlan, and continued at Newberry’s in Corbin where Levi transferred with the L & N Railroad. She later retired from Newberry’s where she was a meticulous bookkeeper.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 72 years, Levi Hoskins; two special nieces: Patsy Worley and Debbie Cook; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Willis officiating.
Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily, with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Women’s Ministry at Central Baptist Church Corbin, KY.
