Mearl Lipps

Mearl Lipps, 78, of Corbin, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

He was born in Clay County to the late Lloyd Lipps and Jenny Frost Lipps.

Mearl made a successful living as an underground mine foreman. He enjoyed his service in the Jehovah’s Witness Church, watching westerns, and spending time with family and friends.

Mearl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Niwanna Litton Lipps, his parents, and his stepmother, Viola Lipps.

Survivors include two brothers: Delbert Woods and Curtis Lipps; three sisters: Anne Napier, Faye Releford, and Audrey Mae Swafford; two stepsons: John Daniel Smith (Kathy) and Steven Gerald Smith (Sharon); grandchildren; great-grandchild; brothers and sisters of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witness in Corbin; and other relatives and friends.

Mearl’s memorial service was held Saturday, January 21, at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witness in Corbin.
