Harrison Sulfridge and Jamie Gibson
Two Whitley County man were arrested Tuesday on drug charges in the Canadatown community.
According to KSP Post 11 Public Affairs Officer Don Trosper, officers from Post 11 along with Williamsburg Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives met in a parking lot of a church on Young Creek Cemetery Road to plan the investigation. Upon arriving, they noticed a black Chevrolet Trailblazer with a single male occupant behind the church. After questioning the individual, officers discovered what they suspect to be methamphetamine and items used to manufacture meth.
Trooper Tony Dingess arrested Harrison B. Sulfridge, 33, of Williamsburg on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance first-degree (methamphetamine) and carrying a concealed weapon.
Later, investigators went to a residence on Gibson Lane to check out complaints of illegal drug activity. When officers arrived, they report smelling chemical odors that became stronger as they approached the home. Upon stepping onto the porch area of the house, officers saw, in plain view, a duffle bag with vapor/smoke coming from it and could see a HCL generator — used in manufacturing meth.
Jamie M. Gibson, 41, of Williamsburg, was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.
Dingess is continuing his investigation into both cases. He was assisted by Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird and Detective Bobby Freeman.
