Michael Edward Tackett, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born in Wyandotte, Michigan on March 21, 1954, Michael made his home in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he was a cherished member of the community.
Michael loved attending Grace Christian Fellowship Church. His love for his family and his joy in simple pleasures, such as taking walks, left lasting memories for all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Cathy Tackett; and their son, Luke Tackett. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Ratliff (Albert); his aunt, Verna Hill; brothers-in-law, Jerry Davis (Georgia) and Darrell Johnson (Wilma); and sisters-in-law Lisa Bowman, Ann Lawson, and Fay Swank. Michael also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, Vic Tackett, Corey Tackett, Susan Mink, Beth Mink Gambrell (Troy), Cindy Tackett, Jennifer Davis, Tanya Dye, Justin Lawson, Christine Johnson, John Johnson, Trenton Lawson, Brady Bowman, and Cindy Paul; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Beulah Tackett; brothers, Johnny, David, and James Tackett; sister, Helen-Sue Tackett; and in-laws John and Christine Johnson.
Funeral service was Friday, May 16, at Croley Funeral Home in Williamsburg with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating.
Burial followed at Hill Cemetery, Whetstone Road, in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
