Nannie “Ruth” Marcum, age 76 of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was born January 14, 1947 in Whitley County, KY, to the late Lawrence and Savannah Baird Adkins. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; William “Bud” Marcum, a granddaughter; Joyce Ruth, siblings; Harold Adkins, Lawrence Adkins, Verna Bray, and Clyde Nichols.
She is survived by her three children; Betty Ward (David), William Marcum, Jr., Rebecca “Becky” Marcum (Donnie Stephens), five grandchildren; David Lee (Jessica), Harvey Marcum, Jessica Marcum (Tyler Gross), Rebecca Clark, John Wayne Lemmings, nine great grandchildren; David Ward, Toby Ward, Journey Marcum, Skylight Marcum, Addison Mills, Sadie Mills, Houston Marcum, Joseph Clark, Savannah Clark, one brother; Jesse James Adkins (Martha), one sister; Marylin Nichols, special friend; Anna Byrd, several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service was Sunday, March 26, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating. Interment was in Jellico Creek Cemetery.
