Novella Sutton Floyd

Novella Sutton Floyd, age 93, of Rockholds and Cripple Creek community, passed away and went to her Heavenly home Monday, September 30, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY.
She was born June 12, 1931 in Williamsburg, KY to the late James “Jim” and Josephine “Josie” Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph “Red” Sylvester Floyd; son, Jerry Floyd; son-in-law, Wilbert “Bill” McKinney; sisters, Grace Sutton Hill (Cley) and Ruby Davis Ragsdale (Lawrence); brothers, Ledford Davis (Flonnie), Frank Sutton (Flossie), Lawrence (Wilma) Sutton, Luster Sutton (Bobbie), AJ Sutton (Edna), Don (DC) Sutton (Jeanette), Hubert Sutton (Martha), and Charles Sutton (Naomi).
She was employed by the U.S. Forest Service, Older Americans Program for 18 years. She loved being outdoors, fishing, gardening, canning and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jo Floyd McKinney of Corbin, KY; sons, James Floyd (Sandy Tibbs) of Dunlap, TN, Jackie Floyd (Sarita) of Corbin, KY, Joseph Floyd of Rockhold, KY, David Floyd (Rhonda) of Corbin, KY, and William “Willie” Floyd of Huntsville, TN; grandchildren, Maria Bauer-Amy, Holly Kirby, Sabrina Helton (Marvin), Chris Bridwell (Suzanne), Kim Chilcutt (James), Jordan Floyd (Sarah), Justin Patterson and Joslin Floyd; great-grandchildren, Riley and Madison Bauer-Amy, Tegan Kirby, Cody and Marcus Helton, Jude Bridwell, Gabe Chilcutt, and Wren Floyd; sister-in-laws, Naomi Sutton and Bobbie Sutton Huddleston; special nieces, Pam Hodge (James), Vonna Hutson (Phil), Barbara Smith; special nephews, Elmer Sutton, Ronnie Sutton, and Larry Floyd; as well as many other nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
A private funeral services will be held at Ellison Funeral Home in Williamsburg, KY with Rev. James Hodge officiating. Interment following at Craig Chapel Cemetery in Rockholds, KY.
Pallbearers will include John McKinney, Albert Jackson, Larry Floyd, Marvin and Cody Helton, Ronnie Sutton, Jordan Floyd, James Chilcutt, and Honorary pallbearer, Elmer Sutton.
