Two former Kentucky State Troopers accused of using excessive force during an August 2020 incident have been acquitted in federal court.
After five days’ worth of testimony and deliberating for approximately eight hours last Friday in U.S. District Court in London, a jury found Michael Logan Howell and Derrek Lovett not guilty on all charges against them. The pair both faced two counts of engaging in misleading conduct, with Lovett also facing an additional charge of deprivation of rights under the color of the law.
