Patients and caregivers recognize BCN for top hospice care nationwide

Date:

Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) has been named a 2025 Hospice CAHPS Honors Award recipient by MatrixCare. The Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) exclusively recognizes high-performing hospice agencies that continuously deliver quality care as measured by patient and caregiver satisfaction surveys.

Bluegrass Care Navigators’ President and CEO Liz Fowler credits Team BCN’s commitment to providing excellent, patient-centered care that improves the quality of life for patients, but also supports families and caregivers through grief care, respite services, and more.

“Receiving the 2025 Hospice CAHPS Honors Award is a meaningful recognition for all of us at Bluegrass Care Navigators,” Fowler said. “It affirms our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional care with compassion, exactly when it’s needed most. This award reflects our team’s dedication to going above and beyond for the patients and families we serve.”

To be considered for this award, the hospice agency must have scored above the MatrixCare National Score for the willingness to recommend question.

If that criterion is met, performance is evaluated utilizing a set of 24 additional quality indicator measures. These scores are then compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated from survey data from all partnering hospices included in the MatrixCare Hospice CAHPS database.

Established in 1978, BCN provides hospice care in 32 counties across northern, central and eastern Kentucky. As a mission-driven, nonprofit agency, BCN supports those facing serious illness or chronic disease with both long and short-term hospice care, palliative care, transitional care, PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), and grief counseling services.
