Pleasant View Elementary students were hitting the books to celebrate Read Across America Week. Read Across America Week ran from Monday, February 28th until Friday, March 4th. Top, Baptist Health Corbin President Anthony Powers said he was inspired to read because, “My mother was my greatest inspiration to read. She would read to me at an early age before I learned to read and instilled a love for reading at a very young age.” Bottom, Whitley County Superintendent John Siler read an inspiring book about basketball player Chris Paul to Mrs. Clifford’s first grade classroom.
