Redhounds visit Rupp

Date:

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. There were plenty of heroes for the Corbin Redhounds Saturday night in the finals of the 13th region but none bigger than 5-9 sophomore Josh Hamlin. With his team trailing 39-33, Hamlin stole the ball and went in for a lay-up and foul with 6:23 left in the game. He hit the free throw and sparked a comeback that would lead to a mid-night celebration at Corbin High School as the Redhounds came from behind to knock off the defending kings of the region, Rockcastle County, 67-57.
The Redhounds were led in scoring by seniors Andrew Parks (27 points) and Jordan Noble (16 points) on their way to Rupp Arena.
Parks hit on 6 of 10 from the field and 15 of 17 from the free throw line while Noble hit 3 of 7 three pointers to pace the Redhounds.
Be sure to check out the News-Journal for more details in Wednesday’s issue about the semifinal win over Clay County and the exciting victory Rockcastle County and the Road to Rupp Arena. We will take a close up look at Lone Oak, their first-round opponents and who they could meet in the second-round.
