Russell Edward Smith, 62, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. Russell was born on October 14, 1962, in Corbin, KY, the son of Paul Smith and Phyllis Sears.
He was married to the love of his life, Charlotte, who was his constant companion and best friend. Russell was an avid sports fan, particularly the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats.
Russell loved keeping stats on his favorite teams and also had a remarkable ability to remember dates.
Russell was a Christian man who loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith was evident in his everyday life, Russell cherished moments spent with his Children and their spouses. He was eagerly looking forward to the birth of his grandson, Nolan Smith.
Russell’s passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but his memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Russell Smith is survived by his wife, Charlotte Smith; his mother, Phyllis Sears; his son, Travis Smith and his wife Becky; his daughter, Christa Worley and her husband Dylon; his unborn grandson, Nolan Smith; he is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in- law, Rev. Doyle Lester and Wanda Lester; as well as a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Smith. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 7, at 12:00 pm at the Croley Funeral Home, 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. Funeral services will follow at the same location at 2:00 pm.
