Sacred Heart presenting special ‘Man of the Shroud’ exhibit this week

Date:

Now through Sunday, visitors to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corbin can get an up-close look at an exact replica of the famed Shroud of Turin, which is believed by many to be the actual shroud that was wrapped around the body of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion.

The exhibit features the shroud replica, including the imprint of what appears to be the face of Christ, as well as a video about the history of the real shroud, which is kept at the Chapel of the Holy Shroud in northern Italy.

Informative literature about the shroud will also available for visitors, and photos are welcome.

Those interested in learning more can visit the church, located at 703 Master Street in Corbin, or call the church office at (606) 528-5222. The Man of the Shroud exhibit will be open each day through Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and on Sunday, May 7, 1-5 p.m. There is no charge to view the shroud.
