“He was headed north and ended up north bound in the southbound lane,” said Corbin Police Major Rob Jones of the wreck that occurred at approximately 2 p.m.

Jones said the truck hauling a van trailer loaded with paper snapped the barrier in places leaving cable laying in the southbound lanes.

“He said his brakes gave way,” Jones said of the driver

Traffic was being diverted off of Exit 25.

“They are getting off of the exit and getting right back on the other side,” Jones said.

Corbin Police, Corbin Fire department and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet responded to the scene.

Firefighters said the scene was cleared and the roadway reopened at approximately 3:45 p.m.
