With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Shawn Michael Carter, 58, a humble, loving, and cherished member of our community. Born on July 2nd, 1967, in Benson, Arizona, Shawn lived a life full of compassion, humility, and a deep love for his family and friends.
His life was a testament to the power of kindness, empathy, and an undying dedication to the people he cherished. He leaves behind an unfillable void but also countless memories of laughter, wisdom, and love that will forever remain with us.
Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Angela Carter of Williamsburg, KY; his children, Joshua Carter (Amber), PJ Carter (Taylor), Brian Kirby (Sadie), Nathan Carter, Josie Walker, and Mia Walker; his grandchildren, Jacob Carter, Jace Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Faith Carter, Liara Carter, and Weston Kirby; his special brother, Jerry Hickey of Lily, KY; his special sister-in-law, Shawnda Anderson of Williamsburg, KY; and his bonus in-laws, Joe and Patsy Johnson of Williamsburg, KY. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn his passing.
Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Linda Carter; his grandmother, Freda Huddleston; and his in-laws, Joel and Barabra Earls.
Funeral service was held Thursday, January 29, at the Croley Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Meadors and Rev. Hoyt Caddell officiating.
