You go to your doctor to monitor your blood pressure and your dentist to catch cavities early, but who do you see for injury prevention or body mechanics? Just like annual visits to your physician and dentist, physical therapy check-ups are key to preventative care and long-term health.
University of the Cumberlands’ Connie D. Hauser Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program will offer free physical therapy check-ups for adults ages 40 and older on Monday (June 23) from 2:30 – 4:45 p.m. at the Ward Correll Health and Wellness Center on Cumberlands’ campus in Williamsburg. Participants must schedule their check-ups in advance.
Not sure what to expect? Current DPT students will lead individualized screenings to assess muscle strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance—factors that impact your ability to move freely, stay active and maintain independence.
Based on the screening results, participants will receive personalized recommendations to help prevent muscle and joint injuries, reduce the risk of falls, and support long-term mobility. Each check-up is designed to empower individuals to improve their physical fitness and optimize their quality of life.
Cumberlands’ DPT program is deeply committed to promoting the health and well-being of Williamsburg and its surrounding communities. By providing free check-ups, the program hopes to foster strong relationships, build trust and offer meaningful service to the local area.
