Tommy Lee Adkins, age 62, of Jellico, Tennessee, went to his heavenly home after an extended illness on Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 9, 1962, to Robert Lee Adkins, who survives, and the late Martha Ann (Ayers) Adkins.
He was the grandson of the late Tom Adkins and Lona (Lawson) Adkins and the late John Alfred Ayers and Etta Mildred Ayers.
Tommy was a graduate of Jellico High School – Class of 1980. After graduating from high school, he became a certified auto mechanic. He was a life-long car enthusiast and was able to work in various capacities in the car business for many years from certified mechanic to dealership manager.
He was also a long-time member and deacon of the Crouches Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Teresa (Miller) Adkins, of Jellico; three children, Mallory Adkins-Baird, and husband, Tony, of Jacksboro, Taylor Leeann Adkins and Caleb Adkins, both of Jellico; and five grandchildren, Cruze Baird, Truth Baird, and Maylon Baird, and Caroline Adkins and Stormi Adkins.
Tommy is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Donna Miller; sister-in-law, Tammy Miller; brother-in-law, Robert Miller, and wife, Noelle; niece, Leah Miller, and special nephew, Dylan Miller, all of Jacksboro, TN; special friend, Chris Burns; his church family at Crouches Creek Missionary Baptist Church; several aunts and uncles, and other relatives; his beloved dogs, Ralph, Lucy, Bella, and Sassy, and a host of friends and neighbors to mourn his passing.
The family received friends for visitation on Sunday afternoon, April 27, at the Crouches Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside service and interment followed in the Campbell Memorial Gardens located in LaFollette, TN with the Rev. Trey Brock officiating.
