Two flown out after Highway 904 wreck Monday

Date:

Two Williamsburg residents were flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center after their black Ford pickup came around a curve, went down an embankment and struck a tree.

Johnny Johnson and Vanessa Adams, both 36 of Powers Hollow Road in Williamsburg, had to be airlifted to U.T. due to the severity of their injuries. Adams was ejected from the vehicle.

Responding officer Jonas Saunders reported that the single vehicle collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. near Yaden Hill on Highway 904 in Williamsburg, approximately two miles off Highway 92 East.

He said neither occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

“Speed was a factor,” said Saunders, though he was unable to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role due to their condition.

Saunders said Johnson is reported to have two broken legs and a broken collarbone.

Adams has since been discharged from the hospital.

Whitley County EMS and Patterson Creek Fire Department also responded to the scene.
