Utilities commission: Odor in downtown Corbin caused by work at sewer plant

Corbin Utilities official are aware of and taking action on an sewer odor in downtown Corbin.

Ron Herd, General Manager of the Corbin City Utilities Commission said the odor was cause by worker cleaning out an oxidation ditch.

Workers were removing grit from the ditch at the sewer plant on Boone Ave, Herd said.

Workers have placed lime on the grit and the odor is expect to dissipate within the next several hours.
