Whitley County Fiscal Court approves bid for new ambulances

The Whitley County Fiscal Court unanimously approved Southeast Apparatus’s bid for new ambulances at its Jan. 18 meeting.

Southeast Apparatus submitted the only bid for the new ambulance vehicles. The bid came in at $203,434 per ambulance.

The Whitley County Fiscal Court will purchase four new vehicles using ARPA funds.

The ambulances, which will be used by Whitley County EMS, are four-wheel drive Fords, and they will include Stryker Power-LOAD®.

The power load system makes it easier for EMS workers to lift patients into the ambulances.

The four new ambulances will be added to the existing fleet of vehicles.

Whitley County Judge Executive Pat White, Jr. said, “These new ambulances will add to our existing fleet and help our crews continue to provide the best service to Whitley County’s residents.”
