Whitley deputies attempting to serve arrest warrants find meth, drug paraphernalia

Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies attempting to serve arrests warrants at a Woodbine residence Wednesday reported finding two bags of crystal methamphetamine, assorted prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Deputy James Fox arrested 44-year-old Glennis Reed Nantz and 21-year-old Glennis Kody Nantz at the residence on Ky. 26.

According to Sheriff Colan Harrell, Deputy James Fox along with Lt. Dennis Foley, Sergeant Kirk Mays and Deputy Jonas Saunders went to the residence to serve warrants in search of the men.

Harrell said the deputies found drug paraphernalia and digital scales. In one bedroom deputies recovered the two bags of methamphetamine and two bags containing what is believed to be prescription drugs, along with a glass pipe and approximately 200 empty, small plastic bags.

In another bedroom, deputies recovered two additional bags of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine and another bag containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. In addition, deputies recovered a bag of syringes and a spoon containing what’s believe to be drug residue, along with another set of digital scales and an additional 200 empty, small plastic bags.

Glennis Reed Nantz was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, second and third-degree possession of a controlled substance and served with arrest warrants for failure to appear in court and non payment of fines.

Glennis Kody Nantz was served with an arrest warrant for theft by unlawful taking of the value of $10,000 or more but less than $1 million.

Both were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
