Whitley school board approves budget

Teachers and staff working for the Whitley County school district won’t be getting a pay raise this coming fiscal year, which starts July 1.

During a May 17 special meeting, the Whitley County Board of Education approved the $40 million tentative budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which includes a 2 percent contingency fund that is required by law.
