Woman found dead in Whitley County home; no foul play suspected

Date:

No foul play is suspected in the Saturday morning death of a Feather Creek Road woman, according to Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies.

Sheriff Colan Harrell said that at this point there are no signs of foul play and that officials are waiting on autopsy results to determine how Mary Ellen Siler died.

Harrell said that Roger Daugherty stayed at the residence with Siler and when he found her unresponsive, he flagged down a passerby and used their phone to call 911 about 10:26 a.m.

Deputy Millard Root responded and found Siler, 46, dead at the scene.

No drugs were found inside the residence but police did located a couple of empty drug vials, Harrell said.

Root is continuing the investigation.
