With an average hospital stay of 25 days for long-term care patients, 2021 Rogers Scholar Ellen Cherry of Pulaski County decided to put together an “art cart” to give patients at ContinueCARE Hospital, Baptist Health Corbin, something to do while they are hospitalized.
The “art cart” contained art supplies, games, and activities to help improve the hearts and minds of patients.
“This project impacted Corbin, KY, a community other than my own,” she said. “Because of this, I realized that I could help anyone, anywhere from right here in my hometown of Somerset. This shows me that there is never a good excuse not to help someone in need.”
