Karen Sutton

Date:

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Karen Sutton, a nurturing beacon of love and hope, who left us on February 22, 2024.
Born in Jellico, Tennessee on August 21, 1964, Karen, a compassionate, courageous, humble, and generous woman, lived an extraordinary life, not defined by her employment status but by the indelible warmth she spread among her loved ones and community in Rockholds, Kentucky.
Karen, a woman of deep faith, loved without condition and gave without expecting in return. She was a woman of remarkable generosity, always ready to extend a helping hand, a kind word, or a comforting smile. Her humility shone brightly, reminding everyone that true greatness lies not in being noticed or recognized, but in the goodness of one’s actions.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Kalvin Sutton; and their cherishing daughters, Wendy Jones, Regina (Danny) West, and Khristian Sutton. She was a proud and doting grandmother to DJ West, Brock West, Ethan West, Shania Day, Tommy Jones, James Reeves; and a great-grandmother, to Gracy Reeves. Karen’s spirit lives on in her loving siblings, Mary (Jack) Sutton, Patricia (Gus) Dean, Melissa Bragg, Ella (Larry) Lewis, Paula (Mike) Koultchakian, Adam Anderson, James Fields, Billy Joe Thomas, Steven (Kayla) Adam, Tina Partin, and Billy (Faye) Jeffers. Several nieces and nephews and host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Shirley Jeffers; her sister, Beverly Rice; and her nephew Donnie Hayes.
Funeral service was Monday, February 26 at Croley Funeral Home Inc, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, with Rev. Jesse Byrd officiating.
Karen’s life was a testament to the power of love, courage, humility, and generosity. It is in celebrating her life that we draw strength to move forward, cherishing every memory we shared with her. We invite you to leave your memories of Karen and upload photos to the memorial page, honoring her legacy in your unique way.
