More district seeding games took place across the coverage area Friday night…
A previously scheduled Whitley County versus Williamsburg boys/girls double header ended up being a boys only contest with the girls game getting rescheduled to next Friday, Feb. 7. The Colonel and Yellow Jacket boys put on a show for the enthusiastic crowd on hand, remaining neck-and-neck for most of the game. Whitley got out to a double digit lead in the fourth quarter, however, and were able to fight off a Williamsburg rally to secure the 73-65 victory.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 14-7 on the season, 2-3 in district play. Their final regular season district contest will be Tuesday evening at Corbin.
Meanwhile, the Jackets drop to 12-7, 0-5. They will travel to South Laurel Tuesday for their final regular season matchup against a district opponent.
While Whitley and Williamsburg were battling it out for bragging rights in the county Friday, the Corbin Redhounds and Lady Hounds made the trip to London for a boys/girls double header against the South Laurel Cardinals. The Cards were able to successfully defend their home court on both occasions, winning the girls game by the final score of 46-34, and coming out on top of the boys game, 56-35.
The Lady Hounds are now 14-6 on the season, and an even 2-2 in district play. They will host Whitley County on Tuesday, and then travel to face Williamsburg next Thursday, Feb. 6. The Redhounds now stand at 13-6, 4-1.

The Lynn Camp Wildcats and Lady Cats were also in action against district opponents Friday, with both teams going on the road and falling to the Knox Central Panthers. That puts the Lynn Camp ladies at 5-11, 0-3, and drops the boys to 4-17, 0-3.
