PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF CORBIN, KENTUCKY, AND ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CORBIN, KENTUCKY TO ESTABLISH ZONING FOR REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN WHITLEY COUNTY, KENTUCKY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED BY THE CITY OF CORBIN, KENTUCKY BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF CORBIN, KENTUCKY
Pursuant to KRS 81A.412, KRS 100.209, KRS 100.212 and the Development Ordinance for the City of Corbin, Kentucky, that the Planning Commission of the City of Corbin, Kentucky, will hold a public hearing on October 08, 2026 at 4:00 P.M., at the City Government Center Second Floor Conference Room, Room 202, City Hall, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, Kentucky 40701, concerning proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Corbin, Kentucky, and the Zoning Map of the City of Corbin, Kentucky in order to establish zoning for certain real property proposed to be annexed by the City of Corbin, Kentucky.
The real property proposed to be zoned and annexed is located at 2686 5th St Road, Corbin, Kentucky reference Deed Book 587, Page 486 and is recorded at the Whitley County Court Clerk’s Office.
At the hearing, the Planning Commission of the City of Corbin, Kentucky, will adopt or not adopt any amendments to the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Corbin, Kentucky, and make its recommendations as to any zoning of the real property proposed to be annexed by the City of Corbin, Kentucky.
The proposed amendments above- referenced may be inspected in the office of the Department of Codes and Planning of the City of Corbin, Kentucky, City Government Center, City Hall, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, Kentucky, between 8:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The undersigned certifies pursuant to KRS 100.212(2) that this notice was mailed by first class mail to an owner of every parcel adjoining the property the classification of which is proposed to be changed.

Public Notice of Request for Letters of Interest for
Professional Architectural Services and Construction Manager
Corbin Independent School District is requesting:
- a one-page Letter of Interest for Architectural Services for various renovations at Corbin Primary School,
- a one-page Letter of Interest for Construction Manager for various renovations at Corbin Primary School,
- a one-page Letter of Interest for Architectural Services for various renovations at Corbin High School, and
- a one-page Letter of Interest for Construction Manager for various renovations at Corbin High School.
Qualified architectural firms and qualified Construction Managers shall indicate their interest by submitting this Letter of Interest to Rhonda Moore, Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, Kentucky 40701, no later than Wednesday, October 14th, 2026. One-page Letters of Interest may also be emailed to Rhonda Moore at Rhonda.moore@corbin.kyschools.us. Letters received after Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 at 4:00 pm will not be accepted. The 2026-2027 Working Budget for Corbin Independent Schools is available for public viewing at the District website, financial disclosure page. Go to www.corbinschools.org, click on Departments, under Finance, click the Learn More button, and select the Working Budget.
2026 PROPERTY TAX NOTICE
The 2026 Whitley County Property Tax will be due and payable beginning October 1st, 2026. If you do not receive your bill in the next few days, please contact the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office. When mailing in your payment, please include a copy of the tax bill. If you wish to have a paid receipt returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The following dates will be the collection dates for property tax bills:
2026 TAX COLLECTION SCHEDULE
2% Discount if paid by November 1, 2026
Face Amount if paid by December 31, 2026
5% Penalty if paid by January 31, 2027
21% Penalty if paid after January 31, 2027
All property tax bills that are not paid will be turned over as delinquent if not paid by April 15th, 2027.
