Dr. John and Mrs. Mavis Broome celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 6, 2006. Married in Columbia, Mississippi, the couple moved to Williamsburg in 1966. They were honored with a dinner given by their daughters, Kim White, Erica Harris, and Shelleigh Moses, at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
