Local teacher continues chasing dreams as a bodybuilder

Date:

65622959-DC16DayN+443xLast year, a story appeared in the News Journal about Nathan Smith, a local teacher who decided to compete in bodybuilding despite the fact that a medical condition forced him to begin living with a pacemaker in 2010.

Smith recently placed second in the Classic Physique category at the 2016 Kentucky Derby Bodybuilding Championships in Louisville. That has qualified him to appear at the USA Bodybuilding Championships in Las Vegas in July.

Should Smith place in the top two at the USA Championships, he will become an International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) professional competitor, which is the highest level that a bodybuilder can compete at.

The News Journal will provide more updates on Smith in the future as he continues to pursue his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder.
