Laurel deputies arrest two people suspected of attempting to deal meth out of minivan

Date:

A complaint of individuals offering meth for sale to customers outside of a Keavy area business, led to the arrest of two individuals Saturday night.

Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 30-year-old David Boggs of Corbin and 34-year-old Donald Liford II of London were each charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said deputies were called to the scene on Ky. 312 off of Blossom Ridge Drive about 5:30 p.m.

Callers had identified the vehicle as a red Pontiac minivan.

During the course of the investigation, Acciardo said deputies recovered 7.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with scales, baggies and a glass pipe with suspected meth loaded into it.

“Possession of more than two grams of methamphetamine is legally considered trafficking,” Acciardo explained.

A third individual inside the vehicle, 40-year-old Ann Nash of Corbin, was served with two outstanding warrants out of Whitley County charging her with failure to appear in court to answer charges of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, giving officer false identifying information, illegal possession of a legend drugs and numerous traffic violations.

Deputy Daniel Grigsby along with his K-9 Edge and Deputy Charlie Johnson responded to the call.

The individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Facility.
