$39.2 million KY 92W realignment project ready to start

Construction is expected to start in a couple of weeks on a $39.2 million project to realign a section of KY 92W from the intersection of KY 592 in McCreary County extending east of the intersection of Old Jellico Creek Road in Whitley County.

Prime contractor Hinkle Construction Services LLC is scheduled to begin installing construction signage and mobilizing equipment this week with full construction activities to begin in the next couple of weeks, according to a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet news release.

Construction activities are expected to have minimal impact on motorists at this time.

The work is expected to be finished in March 2021.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, while utilizing safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their own reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
