Public asked to help suspect in north Corbin burglary

Date:

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a burglar that struck a business in southern Laurel County last week.

Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said the individual was one of four involved in the break-in at the business located on Chase Lane, off of American Greeting Card Road on Aug. 2.

“There were a total of our people involved,” Acciardo said. “Three have already been captured, but we are not identifying them until this fourth person is captured.”

Acciardo said the individuals got into the business lot, but failed to make off with any items.

“Even though they didn’t take anything, it is still burglary because they made unlawful entry,” Acciardo explained.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at (606) 864-6600, or personal message the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

Tips may also be emailed to Acciardo at g.acciardo@laurelcountysheriff.com.

The business owner is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
